2016 Hub City Teen Writers Contest Winners Announced

Brad Parks Named MAFWI 2016 Keynote

The Mid-Atlantic Fiction Writers Institue is proud to announce that mystery author and journalist Brad Parks will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2016 conference. Brad Parks is the only author to have won the Shamus, Nero and Lefty Awards. He is a full-time novelist who lives in Virginia with his wife and two children. MAFWI 2016 Dates Announced

Save the date! The Mid-Atlantic Fiction Writers Institute (MAFWI) and Hub City Teen Writers Institute (HCTW) will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 through Saturday, August 13, 2016. Conference details, speaker and presenter information, and registration are forthcoming.

2015 Hub City Teen Writers Contest Winners Announced

MAFWI is proud to announce the winners of the 2015 Hub City Teen Writers Fiction Contest:

Grand Prize Winner
"Our Hands" by Katelyn Hogue, age 16

First Runner Up Winner
"The Man By The Stream" by Aileen Pepple, age 17

First Runner Up Winner
"Flying The Cage" by Sarah Chan, age 16

Second Runner Up Winner
"People Like Me" by Lauren Ingram, age 15

Winning entries will be published in a special edition of The Hedge Apple, the literary magazine of Hagerstown Community College, after the 2015 Institute in August.
